My story

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page.

I decided to climb to Everest Base Camp in memory of Adam Smith, son of David and Monika Smith, who tragically committed suicide at the age of 20 in September 2007. At his funeral donations were invited to the charity 'Young Minds', a charity dedicated to promoting and improving the mental health of children and young people across the UK. We will spend 17 days on the Everest Base Camp Expedition and the highest point to which we climb on this expedition is just over 18,200 feet. I have therefore set a target to raise 10p per foot, ie a total of £1800. All costs for this expedition have been met by myself, so every pound will go directly to this important charity.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: YoungMinds will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

So please sponsor me now!

Many thanks for your support.
