I GOT THERE! For the 4 day people it was the hardest DW for a very long time. A great deal tougher than the 4 I have done previously, and far tougher than I expected. Very strong head winds and massive waves, at Henley the wind took my boat out into the riverbefore I got in it , but it was rescued by another crew. On 2 occasions walking took less energy and was much safer than paddling. My support crew were fantastic supplying me and keeping me going, they froze and were bored waiting a long time for me. Also thankyou to Karen, Alex, Janet and Peter for free warm accommodation and food. I entered this event to commemorate 10 years since I underwent a year of treatment for myeloma. Also to celebrate the return to a fitness level that allows me to attempt it in my 50th year. It is very unusual for a Myeloma patient to be as well as I have been for so long. Myeloma is a horrible incurable illness but Myeloma UK is an excellent charity that needs all the funds it can to improve the lives of Myeloma patients and their families. Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. Please dig deep and sponsor me online.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Myeloma UK will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

Many thanks for your support.
