Thank you for visiting my fundraising page.

I have  now completed my cyclathon to raise money for research into Obstetric Cholestasis, (OC) the liver condition of pregnancy which was the cause of our first baby being stillborn. I have  cycled to 7 hospitals to publicise this condition  and to make sure that pregnant mums know the warning signs ( itching on hands and feet) and risks, so tragedies  can be prevented. I have cycled 200 miles,  in weekly stages, with some kind friends and family members coming too.

First  I cycled to my local hospital, the West Suffolk, where my three babies were born, taking the leaflets about O.C. We had a great ride through the snow-covered Suffolk countryside. The next week we  headed for Colchester where Jenny Chambers, founder of OC Support, and part of the Imperial College research team, came to meet us. I have also cycled to the Ipswich hospital, the James Paget Hospital at Gt Yarmouth, where this photo was taken with my son-in-law, Ian. Then I  visited the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital, where I had a  very warm welcome. Next it was the Rosie Maternity Hospital at Addenbrookes and last the Queen Elizabeth Hospital at Kings Lynn.

I was also inspired to do it  to celebrate the birth of our gorgeous grand-daughter, Abigail, who was born in November, and is now a bonny bundle of smiles. Although Charlotte, our daughter, was diagnosed with OC  at 36 weeks of pregnancy, all was well, thanks to the intervention of the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital, who induced her at 37 weeks.

Your money will be transferred  via  the Women for Women charity  directly into the research into OC, at Imperial College, London
