People who raise money for a charity always have a reason close to their hearts. Last year i took part in a mega hike for no other reason than it was a 'good thing to do'. The money we all raised went to mediequip4kids who buy medical equipment for children for north west medical facilities, and we chose equipment for the Royal Manchester Children's Hospital.
As some of you already know, a few months ago my godson went into RMCH for an appointment for a brain scan. He came out 2 operations later, with 2 new scars, minus a brain tumor from the back of his head. I remember sitting with my freind, talking about the equipment and about the fact that our fund raising may have helped to pay for some of it. WOW.
He is now fighting fit thanks to the promp treatment he recived and the care from the Intensive care and High Dependency Units. While the equipment is impressive and the staff amazing, they are in need of so much more to keep the facility running and more children like josh back to health.
I'm walking the great wall of china and would like to raise money to support this hosptial again. I have funded the trip myself so that any money raised will go straight to charity and not to my trip
