Cancer affects us all as one in every three people will have some form of cancer in their lifetime. I know that I am not alone in having friends and relatives who are either currently battling with or in remission from cancer and many of us have loved ones who have sadly been taken from us by this dreaded disease. The Yorkshire cancer centre has launched a £10m appeal to further enhance its facilities to improve diagnosis, treatment and care of sufferers. Please help me to raise funds to help them reach their target . 

In November 2009 I will be undertaking a cycle challenge which involves 5 consecutive days of cycling around 50 miles.

My training regime is simple cycle, get tired then cycle some more!!! oh yes plus loads of gym workouts. I've started in the extreme ice and snow and so far managed to up the distance to 30 miles so it's onwards an upwards until I can manage 5 consecutive days of over 50 miles and in hot and humid conditions. Good job there are loads of hills around Leeds to practice on Ouch!!! (but will I get a practice on the hot and humid front?...only if this summer is better than last!)

June 2009 Training is going well , I managed 73 miles on the Wetherby to Filey Great Yorkshire Bike Ride (see photo)and another 60 miles two days later cycling to my sister's house for lunch. Thank goodness for the nice weather I am getting some practice in "hot and humid" conditions. I am now working on consecutive days in the saddle. (ouch!!!)

I have personally donated over £2000 which more than covers any costs of flights, food and accommodation etc.to ensure that every penny that you help me raise will go directly to the Yorkshire cancer centre.
