My story

Hi there and thanks for visiting our fundraising page.

Being stuck down here at the bottom of the world can get a little samey - penguins don't have a wide range of conversation - so we like to chill out by picking up a few instruments and slaughtering the odd song or two.

Of course we're lucky - we have access to instruments, and while we can't claim to be experts, at least we've worked out which way up to hold them. So it's a real priviledge to be able to participate in the Global Busk in support of Musequality, a charity that supports music projects for some of the poorest children in the developing world. These projects help them gain self-confidence and the skills to work with others that will stand them in good stead for the futures of themselves, their families and their countries, and we hope that you'll support these projects.

Musequality, founded in May 2007, sets up and supports music projects for some of the poorest children in the developing world. Our aim is not to produce professional musicians but to give vulnerable children the chance to learn skills – such as self-confidence, problem-solving, numeracy and goal-setting – and build a sense of identity that will give them a route out of poverty and away from the risks of drug culture, violence and crime.
