On the 25/26th July I am taking part in a 24 hour pool Marathon in aid of Cancer Research UK.
24 hours of solid pool playing, no sleep or resting. Non-stop 8 Ball Pool. If you have ever been unfortunate to have played pool with me, you will understand what a painful experience this will be! Surely worth a few of your hard earned pounds!
So, in short.... I WANT YOUR MONEY (pleeeease ;-))
I know times are tough and we don't all have too much extra cash but it really could make a difference. Both myself and my partners family have been touched by Cancer, having lost people close to us in the past few years. We have also known people who have been fortunate enough to have benefitted from the huge leaps that have been made in the medical world and have beaten this relentless disease. Those advances have been possible due to money raised by events like this one. So, maybe you could give up a couple of pints this week or give that mid-morning choccy bar a miss and sponsor me instead.
I personally look at a donation towards Cancer Research as an investment for the future, maybe one day it will help you, me or somebody close to us. Lets hope we don't need it but if we do, its nice to know that charities such as Cancer Research are fighting to improve treatments to cure Cancer. They still have a long way to go and they can't progress without funds.
