My story

On the 21st December 2009 when he was just one year and 8 months old Alfie was diagnosed with Stage 4 Neuroblastoma, a very aggressive childhood cancer. Despite long and life threatening treatment Alfie has relapsed with the disease and now doctors say that there is nothing more that can be done for him here in the UK. However there are treatment options available in Germany and the USA, as well as through private clinics in this country.

In London a new cyberknife radiotherapy centre has opened, which may be able to treat Alfies tumour with pinpoint radiation, reducing the risks of side effects in a child so young, as well as reaching areas most surgeons cannot get to. The cost of this treatment is £22,000.

In Germany there are immunotherapy treatments available at a number of clinics as well as antibody treatments that have been used with great success in the USA. In the USA the antibody therapy is more advanced than those available in Europe, but unfortunately comes with a much higher price tag. The German immunotherapy treatment will cost in the region of £20,000 and the cost of receiving antibody treatment in the USA starts at around £200,000.

These treatments are extremely expensive and we need your help to get the funds needed in order to give Alfie the  fighting chance he deserves.

You can follow Alfie's progress on his website www.appeal4alfie.com.

Please tell everybody you know about Alfie and his fight against this terrible disease.

Thank you all so very much for your support.
