My story

On the 27th April Rob Harwood, Tom Barber and my fine self will be attempting to cycle from Marble Arch (London) to Arc de Triomphe (Paris). We're aiming to complete the ride in under 24hrs non-stop in aid of the Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice. We'll set out Friday afternoon heading for a late night ferry from Dover and then continue on to Paris throughout the rest of Friday night and Saturday. The route is still undecided but it will be around 300-320 miles in total so we'll be looking for an average of 15mph if we're going to make it.

Most of you will know the reason behind why we're raising money for the Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice. But for those who don't, they've been looking after my wonderful woman Miss Holly Webber for the past two years. Holly describes the hospice on her blog as "In the last two years the hospice has been a ray of sunshine in my week, giving me the tools and coping strategies I need to deal with treatment regimes, surgeries and unfortunately now, life with a terminal illness".

The Phyllis Tuckwell are only 12% government funded, meaning they need to fund raise over £15,000 a day to offer such an exceptional standard of clinical care and support. They're very much reliant on public generosity and fundraising, so please dig deep and spur us on to complete our mission.

Holly keeps an inspirational daily blog which can be read at: www.passing-cloud.tumblr.com
