My story

We did it.! We have arrived back with all fingers and toes, which is useful for running The 2008 London Marathon.

What can we tell you? It was COLD!!! -27 still air, long days, and not much sleep.

We shared this amazing trip with 16 others, and collectively, have raised to date over £110,000.

My journey hasn't ended, which is why you are back at this page.

On April 13th, I will be running the London Marathon for the first time.

With a special thought to a friend of mine, who lost his mother to MND while we were out in the Arctic, I'm doing this to raise much needed funds to find a cure for this terrible disease.

The Genifer Smith Trust Fund is now at £76,800

A big thank you for all your generous Arctic donations and to those who have given me money towards the Marathon.

Please sponsor us now. It is simple, fast and totally secure. The Motor Neurone Disease Association will receive your money faster and if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no extra cost to you.

Don't delay, donate today!

Best Wishes,

Steven & Karen

What is Motor Neurone Disease (MND)?

MND is a rapidly progressive, fatal disease that can affect any adult at any time. The cause of MND is unknown and there is no known cure.

It affects around 5,000 people in this country alone at any one time. In the UK at least three people a day die from MND. Around half will die within 14 months of diagnosis. The disease leaves people unable to walk, talk or feed themselves, but the intellect and senses are usually unaffected.
