My story
Welcome and thank you for visiting my fundraising page.
Now for the second time in a row I have decided to once again take on the challenge of L'ardéchoise in June 2005, a cycling event held on the high plateau of the Ardèche region of southern France open to 15,000 cyclists.

This year I will be riding to support the NSPCC (National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children). So I urge you all to dig deep and sponsor me in support of this valuable cause.
To understand why I chose to support the NSPCC, let me share with you a few chilling facts:
- 16% of children in the UK experience serious maltreatment(serious physical abuse, severe emotional maltreatment) at the hands of their parents or carers during childhood.
- More than 6,000 children in the UK are currently known to be at risk of sexual abuse.
- Each week at least one child in the UK is killed by their parent or carer and thousands more endure abuse and neglect as part of their daily lives.
NSPCC has been directly involved in protecting children and campaigning on their behalf for almost 120 years. It has 180 community-based projects which help more than 10,000 children and their families every year.
The NSPCC's mission is to end cruelty to children. The vision is a society in which all children are loved, valued and able to fulfil their potential. In other words, a society that will not tolerate child abuse - whether sexual, physical, emotional, or neglect.
For more information on the NSPCC please visit www.nspcc.org.uk
So if a fat git like me can do this then a tight git like you can sponsor me, so please give generously in support.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: NSPCC will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
Many thanks for your support.
