For many years the fire service up and down the country has given support to Chernobyl Children visiting on respite holidays from contaminated regions of Belarus and the Ukraine. Two of the fire-fighters from Ashford, Michael Pitney and Spencer Wood would like to take it one step further after hearing about how the Fire Service operates in one of the towns the children come from, with equipment from the Soviet Era which have passed all possible expiry dates and exploration limits. Michael and Spencer will give valuable training and also donate the best quality fire suits to these guys. This visit will benefit the people in more ways than you could ever imagine. Two children’s homes. One with 90 disabled girls and another with street children will also be visited and assistance provided. All extra funds raise will go to the childrens home. Thank you.
This visit will result in fewer fatalities in the future!!
