My story

This summer, the A Rocha UK Directors will be taking the Challenge to raise money for A Rocha UK's Associated Projects. Associated Projects are practical conservation projects that are locally owned and locally managed. A Rocha UK provides expertise and resources to help support and mobilise the dreams and visions of community groups around the country in order to increase accessibility to green space, enhance nature biodiversity and educate people about the environment. For stories about our pilot projects, please check out our website!

The challenges include:

Steve Hughes, CEO, will be going The Extra Mile as he hikes the 86 mile Hertfordshire Chain Walk.

Pete Hawkins, Operations Director, will take on All but One as he climbs the 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th highest peaks in the UK in 24 hours.

Andy Lester, Conservation Director, and Helen Demopoulos, Living Waterways Director, will team up for a game of I Spy by Bike and try to spot 10 species of bees, 10 species of butterflies, 25 species of bugs, 5 species of bats and 80 species of birds all by bike in 24 hours.

Dave Bookless, Director of Theology, Churches and Sustainable Living, will be Walking the Walk as he takes trails and canals for 36 miles from A Rocha UK's Living Waterways in London to the Chiltern Gateway in Oxfordshire.

You can donate and support one of the directors through the weblinks (click on the director's name above) or you can provide a general donation through this website. Any and all of donations through The Director's Challenge will directly support the Associated Projects -- for more details, please contact us at uk@arocha.org.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a taxpayer.

So please dig deep and donate now -- come join the challenge!

Thanks!
