23 May 2007: A big thank you also to those of you who have donated via the sponsorship forms in my office! Also a huge thank you to those who are coming up with ideas for fund raising events. Some of the LigherLife clients have come up with some 'corkers'!

Here's a couple to look out for:

1. Clothes Exchange at Booths Yard: A client has come up with a great idea! As our LighterLife clients change shape rapidly on the programme, the idea is for clients to bring into the office their top quality clothes that they have shrunk out of for the Dress Exchange. Jo and I will sort the clothes into sizes and organise an open day over a weekend in June/July for you to come and pick up some lovely items! Everyone wins... some get to pick up utter bargains, some get to create more space in their wardrobes and YCR get some cash from your donations!

2. Friends & Family Bike Ride along the Canal: One of my clients has SUPER KINDLY agreed to coordinate and organise a fun day for all along the canal. Refreshments along route and t-shirs will be supplied. Come along, get some fresh air have a giggle and meet some interesting sorts!!!

Also keep your eyes and ears peeled (do your peel your ears?!?) for other ace upcoming events like the swanky Auction Night (top prizes so far include a ladies Rolex Watch and £500 of 1st Class Train Tickets). Also look out for a fun quiz night in the style of Deal or No Deal in the Britannia Pub in Pudsey!

Yeahh! Can hardly wait... Huh?

13 May 2007: You guys are fantastic. Thanks for your donations and your words of support, its hugely motivating.

We have kickstarted our efforts and you are going to hear about some fun events in the near future. We have some amazing prizes that have been donated for a chic auction night and some fun and drinks to be had at a wine and cheese evening. Stay tuned for more information...

We have been out for a total of 1 ride! Yikes it was a biggie though! However we did stop for pizza and hot chocolate on route!!! Hee hee...

Hmmm after a bit of consideration, we figured its time to crank it up to a more challenging routine! Sunday is training day... so please yell your encouragement and bring us orange pop  or Rola Cola if you see us struggling around West Yorkshire!

09 November 2006: Hello from Mel and me!  

Firstly, may I take this opportunity to thank you for visiting our fundraising page? This is one of many ways in which we aim to raise money for this event. We, like many other people, have been touched at some point in our lives by cancer. We would like to raise money and hopefully awareness of the importance of continued research into this life changing disorder.  

Did you know the Inland Revenue will give an extra 28% to whatever you donate online?  

So a little bit about whom you may be sponsoring. Both Mel and I are active sporty people who enjoy the challenge of trying new things. Mel runs a successful business coaching people with eating disorders and I am doing a PhD investigating viral DNA packaging.  

In a nutshell, we are looking for a way to raise money for a worthy cause while engaging in something we would normally do.
