Large parts of our route is copied by the Tour de France 3 weeks after we run
September 2012 - Great North Run (half marathon)

What I've done:
10th-12th October 2009 - Coast-to-coast bike ride (140ish miles)
I cycled from Whitehaven to Sunderland, it was bloody hard and my knees still hurt a bit.
25th April 2010 - Virgin London Marathon (26.2 miles)
4 hours 45 minutes and 1 second. It was so hard, my hips hurt for a week afterwards and I got blisters on my blisters. But an unforgettable experience.
10th May 2010 - Leeds 1/2 Marathon (13.1 miles)
1 hour 48 minutes - judging by the time my body had obviously decided that this was far more manageable than the full version! Very pleased with my time, hips and toes still hurt afterwards though.
24th May 2010 - Jane Tomlinson's Hull 10K (6.2 miles)
45mins 57seconds, it was really, really, really hot.
4th July 2010 - Jane Tomlinson's Leeds 10K (6.2 miles)
46mins 20seconds
21st November 2010 - Leeds Abbey Dash

12th December 2010 - Bedford Half-Marathon
2 hours 2 minutes,very slow.
22nd April - 1st May 2011 - End-to-End bike ride (990 miles-ish)
Over 100 miles a day (apart from the last day, when it rained lots to make up the difference) this was one of the hardest, most fun, most soul-destroying things I've ever done. Much arse/knee/ankle pain was endured.
22nd May 2011 - Edinburgh Marathon
4hrs 30mins - somehow I beat my time from London, still not entirely sure how that happened, it was very windy too which makes the time even more odd!
19th June 2011 - Jane Tomlinson's Leeds 10k
46mins 14secs - beat last year's time by 6 seconds!
July 2011 - Jane Tomlinson's York 10k
44mins 15secs - PB!
9th October 2011 - Surrey Badger Half-Marathon
1hr 48mins 42secs - hilly but fun
Why I'm doing it:
(I thought I'd also include the suggested justgiving blurb at the bottom of all this so I don't miss anything important).
Over the next few years I'm hoping to do (and be involved with) some things that'll prompt people to donate money to Jane's Appeal. I first got involved with Jane's Appeal in the summer of 2008 when I was one of the support drivers on the charity's end-to-end, John O'Groats to Land's End bike ride, I now help out with their websites and various other bits and bobs. Jane was an incredibly inspirational woman and the charity is doing some really, really good work. Check out the website for more info (www.janesappeal.com)
The things that I'm going to attempt (and will keep everyone updated with via my blog: http://ashmannblogs.wordpress.com) are listed above there might be a couple of other things that get added (a few medium-distance, 200 mile-ish walks or another bike ride or two), and as mentioned above, check my blog for updates on things. I hope you think that the various sores I will undoubtedly suffer are enough to prompt you to donate some cash to this very worthy cause.
