Story
My name is Keith White, and in June 2005, I sailed around the British Isles, anti clockwise and single handed. Whilst other people may have sailed single handed, however, I did it literally SINGLE HANDED.
In 1991, I was involved in a serious road traffic accident, in which my left arm had been severely damaged.
After many operations and many months of intense physiotherapy, the damage had been too extensive, and I was left disabled, without the use of my left arm.
16 years later, I am still in constant pain, but refuse to let this change my lifestyle.
I continue to enjoy many hobbies, one of which is sailing, and it is this love for the sea that spurs me on to new challenges.
In 2005, I successfully sailed anti-clockwise around the British Isles and Ireland (which wasn't without its own challenges!) If you are unaware of my previous challenge, and arrived at this page through a search engine result, you can find out more by going to www.singlehandedyachting.co.uk
I am now sailing single handed again, and my new challenge is to cross the Atlantic Ocean.
Following my rescue in 2005 by the RNLI , it is only right that they should be one of my chosen charities for fundraising.
I will never forget the selfless actions of the brave lifeboat crew that came to my aid. These remarkable people provide their sevices completely voluntarily, and any donation they receive is vitally important to the RNLI, so that they can continue to save lives at sea, as they have been for over 183 years.
I would like to thank you for visiting my fundraising page. Please dig deep, as every penny helps, and sponsor me online.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: The RNLI will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
So please sponsor me now!
Many thanks for your support.
