My story

***It's still not too late to make a donation***

Audrey has just completed her trek of The Great Wall of China...her group have been physicaly unaffected by the tragic devastation caused by the earthquake but am sure emotionally they'll have felt it :0(

A HUGE BIG THANK YOU TO ALL WHO HAVE MADE DONATIONS,SUPPORTED AUDREY & OUR FUNDRAISERS TRULY EVERY PENNY WILL MAKE A DIFFERENCE

I'm taking on the largest man made structure in the World...The Great Wall of China  on the 8th May 2008 to help raise funds for The Childrens Liver Disease Foundation.

The Great Wall of China was originally constructed to keep out nomadic tribes who raided China's northern frontier.
This trekking challenge starts in Jinshanling with a vigorous trek that loops along the mountains either side of the Gubeikou Gateway.
Each day I will trek approximately 12kms along the stony path, twisting and winding its way along the mountains, interspersed with crumbling watchtowers.

My wee cousin Aaron was born fighting...which was just as well.... he had to fight for his life from the moment he entered this world. Born with a heart disorder,he underwent multiple heart surgeries,he lost most of his small intestine due to disease constant tube feeding and IV's led to him suffering from liver disease.
Aaron was an extremely ill little boy but he was fortunate to have received his "gift of life"  a combined liver and small bowel transplant aged 3yrs... he's now 11yrs old and doing amazingly well.
You can read more about my cousin Aaron's life story via this link

The Childrens Liver Disease Foundation helped Aaron's family through a very difficult time in their lives with wonderful support in and out of hospital.

CLDF not only provide much needed support to young people and families affected by liver disease they fund education, awareness and fund the pioneering research into the causes of liver disease and developing the means for early diagnosis and cure
