Dave (Dad) turned 60 and Kirst turned 30 and are celebrating by cycling 400kms together in India (from Kerala to Kodaikanal in 5 days) for children in need. Thank you all who have helped us raise almost £6,000 (AU$14,400)!!!
Let's not stop here... do you remember the last 2 or even 3 no's on your bank balance? If not, you won't miss it ; )
IT'S NOT TOO LATE TO DONATE... PLEASE SPONSOR US NOW... £5 will pay for tetanus vaccinations for 20 kids. £14 will provide 2 new desks to go into a classroom. £35 will help to provide bursaries for deprived young people looking for options for the future. They can benefit from skills training in cookery, sewing, mechanics, plumbing, English and computers. £40 will enable an orphaned child to buy a school uniform and shoes so they can enrol in primary school. In turn, an education will help them restart their lives. £72 will protect a child from abuse and exploitation and offer traumatised children counselling and confidence building support. International Childcare Trust’s work is about... ensuring that vulnerable children have a future by empowering local organisations in Africa and Asia; there are over 132 million children globally orphaned due to extreme poverty, conflict, family dysfunction and HIV/AIDS. ICT is a small, dynamic, charity with low overheads who fund high impact targeted projects managed and staffed by local people. These projects give deprived children and young people the essentials they need to build a life: shelter, healthcare, education, skills training and companionship. You can make a difference... from Stanley Age 9 “When my mother died and ended up on the streets I never imagined I could go back to school, but now I sleep on a mattress and go to school like other children.”. Check out the International Childcare Trust website for more information about their great work for underprivileged children in the world. Many thanks for your support and thank you to all who sponsored me (Kirsty) for the London Marathon last year; I finished in 5 hours 10 mins, ran every step and raised a total of £2,000 for WaterAid.
