So we’ve decided to put ourselves through months of training culminating in a 300 mile cycle from London to Paris over 4 days in June 2012. And of course – it’s being done for a great charity – Merlin’s Magic Wand (MMW). Merlin Entertainments are the world’s 2 largest tourist operator and their charity MMW is a worldwide charity for children, aiming to provide magical experiences for those who are seriously ill, disabled or disadvantaged.
Merlin’s brands include; SEA LIFE Centres, LEGOLAND Parks and Discovery Centres, Chessington World or Adventures, Madame Tussauds, Alton Towers, London Eye, The Dungeons, THORPE Park, Heide Park, Gardaland, Warwick Castle, SEA LIFE Sanctuaries, Earth Explorer and the Blackpool Tower (opening Sept 2011).

Our aims
Merlin's Magic Wand Children’s Charity has been established to bring smiles to the faces of children who are disadvantaged in life. Unfortunately, many children, through circumstances which are not of their own making, are not in a position to be able to experience many of the things that most children take for granted, including trips to theme parks and attractions.
This may be through difficulties in the home, or maybe because they have to care for a sick parent or relative. Sadly, sometimes children suffer abuse or have serious health problems which prevent them from having a normal life. We hope that by making available magical and memorable experiences, at one of Merlin Group's many and varied attractions, Merlin’s Magic Wand Children’s Charity can bring some pleasure and improvement to the lives of some of those children.
So Luke and I are planning to take on this challenge and we need to raise at least £3,100 combined to make this happen – please give as much as you can as we hope to surpass the £3,100 target. Don’t forget Gift Aid if you’re a UK tax payer too! (Extra cash donated from the HMRC – just need to be a UK tax payer).
