Greetings!  To those who have not visited my page before, welcome; and to those who are regulars welcome back!

With just under 2 weeks to go before my departure I am really looking forward to the challenge but am rather nervous.  Have you ever had the “what was I thinking” feeling?

My training took a turn for the worse for a couple of months due to a bad back caused by lifting too many heavy garden pots.  My left leg is still numb however my philosophy is, if it’s numb it can’t hurt.  My gym visits have become more frequent and my fitness and stamina have increased greatly.

Virtually all the required equipment has been purchased with just the first aid kit left to concentrate on.  I’ve been wearing in my Arctic boots; these will keep my feet warm and dry in temperatures of up to -32°, which is all well and good, but most days in Dubai its at least +20°; my feet feel as though the they are on fire!

I’ll be posting a blow by blow account upon my return so keep visiting my page.  In the meantime, please give whatever you can to support my efforts and those of Dogs Trust.  This really is a great charity and one that is very close to my heart.
