‘Alice’s Escapes’ facilitates free holidays to families with a seriously or terminally ill child. Our vision is to enable every sick child to enjoy a holiday with their family - an escape where they are looked after from start to finish and can simply enjoy being together.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I was so inspired by the story of Alice Pyne having followed her fight. The work that both she and her family have done is amazing both in raising the awareness of The Bone Marrow Register and more recently in setting up the charity Alice's Escapes. I needed to do something to help her raise much needed funds to help others in similar situations to herself.

Alice had been fighting cancer for over four years and sadly lost her fight on January 12, 2013.    She set up a blog that went viral attracting over 3 million visitors from around the world.  Her blog was about her bucket list - the things she wants to do before she left this world.  She was lucky enough, with the help from others, to have accomplished many of those things.  In doing so she realised that she too could help others and with her family set up the charity Alice's Escapes which facilitates free holidays to families with a seriously or terminally ill child. Their vision is to enable every sick child to enjoy a holiday with their family - an escape where they are looked after from start to finish and where they can simply enjoy being together.  Actually Alice was so great she was awarded a Pride of Britain award in 2012!

I went a whole week without technology - yes, I did it!  This facebook, social media addict, who is setting up a business and who spends in excess of ten hours a day on the computer and takes photographs with a digital camera every day, not to mention the number of calls I make.  And yes, it was tough perhaps not physically but certainly psychologically and emotionally.  So please, there is still time to help Alice's charity help others.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.

Many thanks,

Michelle
