For the third year running three ponies from Casi's Farm stables, Rowly Drive, the home of Cranleigh RDA, will take part in our annual fund raising Sponsored Ride. Here they are, pictured left, with their riders, all volunteers with Cranleigh RDA:- Badger (and Sue Keen), Perdigau (and Conor Howard) and Snoopy (with Sandra Hudson). Riding the 11 mile route over Surrey hills and heathland is certainly a little different from their usual work with our disabled riders and quite a challenge for them. But raising money for their home is worth the effort!
Please sponsor them! All the money raised will go towards keeping the ponies and their six chums. Its an expensive business - they need food, shelter, bedding, tack, rugs, shoes, veterinary and dental care, physiotherapy, fields maintained for grazing and to let off steam in, all so that they can help us deliver our service.
And that is? - to give the opportunity to ride to over 220 children and adults with some sort of mental or physical impairment who come from a wide area around Cranleigh and Guildford. This is of benefit in so many ways, both physical and psychological, improving strength, fitness and morale. In general our riders have few choices when it comes to sporting activities so the opportunity to ride with us is hugely important to them. And we have fun! By sponsoring our Cranleigh ponies for this event, you can help us to help our riders and to make a difference to their lives.
