Myself and Claire were lucky enough to Visit capetown In February 2009. Although we had a fantastic time we were shocked by the amount of poverty in the Country. By sheer coincidence when I returned to work, my Company Total Uk Ltd were asking for volunteers to go to Kwazizulu in South Africa and help to do some local building work as part of our ongoing support for the One Foundation.
The One foundation provide lots of support and build play pumps in many villages in Africa. The play pump is a fantastic idea where a childrens roundabout provides the energy to pump the waterwell. Not only does this give the children somewhere to play, it also gives them a permanent supply of running water.
Claire and myself will be running in the shenstone fun run as part of our effort to raise money and as I have said, I will be travelling to Africa in October to lend some hands on support. Our picture on the left gives some idea of the poverty we saw.
Please give generously to help the children of Africa have a better life. I will update you on how we do on the fun run and tell you all about my experience once I have been to Africa.
