I am trekking to Mount Everest Base Camp in June 2012 to raise money for Save the Children UK. Your donations will go towards their Families and Schools Together programme. Along the way I will climb 'Kala Pattar' and ascend to 18,192 ft above sea level.

Families & Schools Together (FAST)

Save the Children's FAST programme aims to break the link between child poverty and poor results in school right here in the UK.

- 1 in 4 UK children live in poverty

- 1 in 3 leave primary school unable to read or write

- Parts of Glasgow have a lower life expectancy than Iraq

- 4 out of 5 families successfully complete the FAST programme and go on to achieve more together

Your donations will help change these things.

- £25 buys a hamper full of materials like books, games and art kits to support one whole family throughout the entire programme
