Battlefield 1403 is a Farm Shop, Visitor Centre and Cafe on the site of the Battle of Shrewsbury (which took place in 1403!) and can be found just two miles north of Shrewsbury itself. We have chosen Help for Heroes as our charity to support through 2010. Our aim is to raise the profile of the charity as well as raising as much money for the cause as possible.
Horses for Heroes takes place on the 10th July at Ascot racecourse. It is a seven and a half mile sponsored ride through Windsor Great Park. Battlefield has a team of four horses and riders travelling to Windsor to take part in this unique opportunity and are hoping to raise over £5000 for this event. 15/2/10
We are off the mark!!, a raffle in the shop has raised £120 while the sales of Help for Heroes browbands has added an extra £10 so far. We have now got a list of events on our website including a Dinner Dance and Promise auction to hopefully keep adding to the total. For details please visit our website www.battlefield1403.com 15/3/10
Plans are all in place for our fundraising ball in July. Extra funds have been added towards the total, a talk on birds in the visitor centre by Martin George raised £35 and a 'Name the Lambs' competition at Shrewsbury Market made £86. 22/4/10
Donations are pouring in now, thank you very much to all that have donated both on and off line. Our charity ball has sold out and fingers crossed will be a very successful evening. 18/5/10
