Hello, it's Louise here, thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
If you listen to our show on BBC Radio Wales, you'll know that once the Cardiff Half Marathon was completed in October, we started dance lessons to take part in the Children in Need, Strictly Come Dancing Challenge!
On November 20th, Children in Need night, we'll be live on BBC1 Wales, dancing a salsa, a waltz and a jive alongside our friends Derek Brockway and Claire Summers from Wales Today, and Lucy Owen and Rhodri Owen from XRay.
Jamie says he's never danced before (I have seen no evidence to contradict this....) But we have trained hard and we are having great fun learning new moves!
Your support before and during the half marathon was amazing, thank you for that. On Sunday 18th October 2009, our challenge was completed and we finished the 13.1 miles in 2hours 29mins - I reckon a great time for our first ever half marathon.
Five months ago, we started training for the event. I had never been out running before, so I didn't really know what to expect! I found the race much tougher than I expected - and hit the famous "wall" at 9 miles - but I made it!
Unfortunately, Jamie injured his leg in September, and on the advice of his doctor, he had to pull out of the race. But it's not all bad news, he's determined to get back into running now his injury is almost better, and he managed to persuade our friend and colleague Mal Pope to take his place.
On the day, Mal was an amazing support, staying beside me every step of the way. And Jamie was there too, cheering us both on!
I'm a total novice to running, so it's been a particular challenge for me, but with the support of the production team, the Welsh Women's Running Network, parkruns.com and our wonderful coach Gwynne Griffiths, progress has been steady and I made improvements all the time!
We're aiming to raise as much money as we can for BBC Children in Need and all of the money raised in Wales stays in Wales.
Prime Minister Gordon Brown has also sponsored us, it would be great if you could too.
