Nkwawayanga is a small village of approximately 300 families located on the lower slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro in the North of Tanzania, two hours away from the larger towns of Arusha and Moshi. The majority of families in Nkwawangya are subsistence farmers who grow maize to sell so they can pay for their children’s education and family health.

COCO works with the community to help fund their primary school and health centre. Nkwawangya community health project started as an incentive to promote health education in the village and has now grown to include a clinic and dispensary with a doctor and midwife who provide consultation, advice, counselling, treatment and prescriptions.

One of the main aims of the Nkwawangya Health Project is to prevent and cure malaria. It costs just £3 to buy a treated mosquito net and COCO can distribute nets and educate the community on how to use them.

We need YOUR help! Donate just £3 to buy a mosquito bed net and you can make a vital impact to the lives of the community in Nkwawangya. For the cost of a pint or a glass of wine you could help prevent a trip to the hospital for one of our families in this community.

If 100 people donate just £3.00 we can soon reach our target and supply 300 bed nets to the community.

Thank you!
