17th May Update!
3 days to go and the car is looking better than ever. Grass has withstood the Hertfordshire downpours this weekend and is looking forward to some Belgium sunshine! Last checks all done and now we can focus all our attentions on receiving the last few (hopefully more than a few!) donations. All those teams around us watch out as we are chasing you down and we will not disappoint!!
LATEST!! May 2009
The car actually made it 160-odd miles round trip to Leicester and back! The new brakes are bedded in, there's plenty of tread on the tyres and we managed to only use 1/2 of a tank of petrol in doing so. Most importantly, after a week in the capable hands of the Sowgreen guys the old girl is now covered in grass!! It is certainly a head turner and we're confident we are all going to look as stupid as you all want us to!

We've decided on a golf theme for the tour - Not only because it makes aquiring a costume easier but hopefully we'll be able to tee off into Lake Bled on the way to Slovenia. Thanks to the guys at Sowgreen in Leicestershire, our Volvo will now have the roof, bonnet and boot covered in artificial grass and even it's very own sand trap!
The first full test run of the car is bank holiday weekend - Only 2 weeks before we set off for Brugge!
In May 2009, Simon, Stuart, Iain and Dominic (Team "Before I Fall To Pieces!") will be setting off on an amazing trip across 7 European countries, travelling from Brugge in Belgium, covering over 2000km, arriving at Split, in Croatia 5 days later. This epic voyage will be undertaken with one rule in mind...... the car must be worth no more than £250!
In fact, the beautiful 21 year old white Volvo 740 you see in front of you is the car we have bought ourselves for the job!
So cruising across the poshest parts of Europe in a flash car it is not. But we are going for it all in the name of an extremely worthy charity, to whom 100% of your donation will go. All we want you to do is see what we are up to, laugh at our efforts and inevitable problems, break-downs and mishaps and hopefully we can all raise some money for an excellent cause.
