My story

Thanks for taking the time to visit ourJustGiving page.

Myself and a group of friends Chris, Geraint, Paul, Niel and Tony have talked a great deal over the years about doing something for others but never quite got round to it due to our busy shedules.  So, on the 21st April, rather than spending the weekend improving Bargain Booze's profits we are going to climb Ben Nevis in aid of the fantastic St. David's Hospice in Llandudno. This is a charity that is very close to my heart as it continues provide exemplary care for my mother, Joyce (pictured).

Since this website has been set up unfortunately my mother has passed away (20th Feb 2012) within the Hospice. May I take this opportunity to thank all the staff and volunteers at the hospice for their care and family support over this testing time. This has gave me greater determination to reach our total target.

The main objective of St David’s Hospice is to provide care for people suffering from progressive, life threatening illnesses. This care will be provided in a homely, relaxed atmosphere and it is intended to meet the patient’s physical, psychological, social and spiritual needs.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

At the moment there are only 11 beds within the hospice and they enivsge room for an additional 3 beds in the near future. The approx cost of each bed is £4,000 therefore our goal is to raise enough money to buy them two additional beds so that they can care for someone else who desparately needs the support they provide. (Total £8,000).

Your support is extremely vaulable to us. The clinical running costs are currently £1.6 million each year with over 75% of which comes from fund-raising and voluntary donations.

We need at least £8,000 so please dig deep and donate now.

Organised by a third party to raise funds for St David's Hospice registered charity number 1038543.
