2009 is the year that I run the London Marathon! This is going to be the biggest physical challenge of my life.
But more importantly, I am running to raise money for One World Action, who challenge international policies that make and keep women and men poor. This charity and the work that they do is something I truly believe in.
In 2007, I travelled through Central America and saw widespread poverty and massive inequality, and vowed that I would do something to help.
I visited South Africa in 2008 and saw further examples of the inequalities, lack of human rights, poverty and hunger in the world, which further spurred me on,
Now I have the opportunity to do something good and help the world and the people who live in it, and as far as I am concerned the sky is the limit from here.
I am currently hoping for sub-4 hours. Injury permitting!
* ON March 31st I ran from 9 to 5 across London Bridge, back and forth. I covered more than 50 miles. Surely that shows how much I believe in this cause - it must be worth a few quid, no? :-) *
