Thanks for visiting my fundraising page. Most of you probably think I've gone a little mad. Well maybe I have but I was never completely sane in the first place!
In September 2009, along with my colleague Lee Murphy, I am planning to climb to the summit of Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, the tallest mountain in Africa standing 5895m above sea level, we are doing it to raise money for Ronald Macdonald House at Alder Hey Children's Hospital in Liverpool.
When my son Ben was born in February 2008 he was very poorly, having 2 operations before he was a week old and spending the 1st month of his life in Alder Hey. While he was there my husband and I were given a room in Mac House which provided us with somewhere to sleep, eat and try to relax, whilst being close to Ben if he should need us. It was all arranged for us and and meant we could totally focus our energy on Ben. The house is completely charity funded, costing £400,000 a year to run and truly is the 'house that love built.'
Please support me in my quest to raise money for a very worthy cause, I am aiming to cover the cost of my trip myself, meaning any donations will all go to the charity. Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Alder Hey Family House Trust Limited gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
