Hey everyone! First of all, thanks for taking the time to visit my justgiving page!
My name is Bethany Cuffe-Fuller and I'm 17 years old. In July 2011 I will be taking part in a challenge of a lifetime by attempting to climb the worlds largest free standing mountian, Kilimanjaro. The mountian is the highest in Africa, rising just over 15,100 feet (from base to summit). Tackling this, along with altitude sickness and low temperatures, is a challenge to say the least! Even writing this... I actually think I have gone mad! But I am determined to do this after having read about the problems faced by those living in poverty. I want to help those, in some way, who dedicate their time into helping those who need it the most.
Challenge Africa currently operates in the Kenyan villages of Wagusu and Abimbo, situated on the shores of Lake Victoria. Wagusu demonstrates strong indicators of extreme poverty including high prevalence rates of HIV/ AIDS which are at 33% compared to the national average of 6.7%. It is also home to over 200 vulnerable orphans largely due to this harrowing disease, all of whom currently have no immediate support. The charity is run by a small team, who do an amazing job, but need the support from people like you and me. By sponsering us to climb you are helping so many underprivileged HIV/AIDS orphans and suffers get the help that they desperately need, every little helps and the money really does go a long way.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer.
Please dig deep and help as much as you can!
All the best, Beth x
