My Name Is Beth Merry Titciner, I'm a 20 year old video editor from Norwich, uk.

8km up a dirt track in the state of Goias, right in the interior of Brasil, 200 children aged from babies to 18 live in the Lar Betel children's home.

The children come from families which have disintegrated as a result of poverty or they have run away following abuse and neglect; some have been abandoned by parents or been in trouble with the law. The majority carry the scars, psychological or physical, of ill treatment by the adult world.

The home is very under funded and under-staffed, and crying out for people to help teach, care for, and play with the children, and help out with the cooking, housework and all the general jobs that looking after 200 children involves.

The Not-For-Profit charity GAP activity projects has organised for me to go and work as a volunteer at Lar Betel for four to five months, starting at the end of August 2006.

The GAP charity is able to cover 20% of the cost of sending me to Lar Betel, but I still need to raise the other 80%.

So please have a dig in your pockets and help me raise the money to go help out at Lar Betel!
