We will be racing at this year's Bewl Water Dragonboat Festival on September 17th, and will be aiming to surpass last year's glorious 5th place finish. In fact, nothing but a podium place will suffice!
Our objective as ever is to raise funds for Bidborough School PTA and this year we have decided to also support the Demelza House Community. This is a very worthwhile charity selected by the crew members. We hope to match last year's efforts when we were able to raise over £4000 for our companion charity.
The Demelza Community is a team that provides a hospice at home service for children in East Sussex and parts of South West Kent. The vision of Demelza House is to provide a needs led specialist care service to children and young people, who are unlikely to reach adulthood. They support the family as a whole by working in partnership with the local community and professionals to provide choice, an improved quality of life and individual expert care. Last year we were commended by the Festival organisers for having the best supporters at the races. We feel very privileged to have such fantastic support and we hope to see even more family and friends screaming for us at this brilliant event in September.
