Mencap wants a world where people with a learning disability gain an equal right to choice opportunity and respect. The charity believes that people should have equal opportunities in education, work and in playing a full part in the community. They believe that support for the families and carers of people with a learning disability is vital to achieving their vision

Our Auntie Jennifer has a learning disability and has been marvellously looked after by Mencap for the last 20 years.

Previously, our dad Jim (the Badger), has run the marathon three times and Tom (Dr Doolittle) has run it once for this fantastic charity.

Believe it or not THIS YEAR Big Al is pulling on his trainers and was to join his brother in running the marathon to raise yet more money. Unfortunately Tom has developed a serious injury in his knee that requires surgery and will not be able to compete (that's his excuse anyway!!).

Please help us support this wonderful charity by donating whatever you can for our efforts.

We look forward to seeing you at the finish line (even if it is dark)!
