Organised by the Yorkshire Golfer, the Biggest Loser Challenge is a charity golf event to raise money for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance and Cancer Reseaarch (via the Seve Foundation)

Yorkshire Golfer has chosen four high handicap players who will be supported by four pros from Leeds Golf Centre in the seven month challenge to get their handicaps down by as much as possible. In my case I have only been playing golf for a little over a year - so this is a real challenge for me.

The idea is that we will be playing in teams of two and have until November 1st and the winning pair is the one to get their handicap down by the highest percentage.

We are from variuos golf clubs around Yorkshie - Skidby Lakes GC, Wetherby GC, Phoenix GC and me from Rudding Park and what gives an added interest is that although we have been paired we do not know each other

I am sure you will know of the amazing work undertaken by the Yorkshire Air Ambulance from the TV programme - 'Helicopter Heroes' - but as this is a voluntary organisation it is always in the need of funds particularly when you think that it costs £7,200 per day to keep the helicopters flying - so every little helps and all donations are welcome.
