Donate a frame = £15
Donate a pair of wheels = £10
Donate a saddle = £5
Donate a pair of handlebars = £3

The Big Santa Ride is a package of fund-raising activities in aid of Save the Children. The central feature is a Christmas fancy dress bike ride on the stunning South Downs from Queen Elizabeth Country Park south of Petersfield. In addition, there is also an online charity auction of bike related goodies, fund raising event photography, charity bike wash and more. For full details of the Big Santa Ride events, visit trailbreak.co.uk/bigsanta/.

The Big Santa Ride is organised in  of support Save the Children's excellent Wish List scheme to give essential gifts to poor children around the world. High on the list of gifts that Save the Children need to donate are.... bicycles. Just £39 allows Save the Children to give a bike to a child or family who need it.

In this instance, giving a child a bike is no frivolous gift. We all remember our first bikes as favourite toys and a first taste of independence, but for many the benefits can be more fundamentally  life changing. A bike can be the difference that makes an education accessible.

Education is the key to a better future for poorest children. If your nearest school is two hours' walk away though, its hard and tiring just getting there and back everyday. Just £39 means Save the Children can give a child a bike, so they can cover the ground in no time. Parents are more likely to send their children to school if they can get home quicker. It's less tiring, they'll have more time to play, do their homework and help out at home.So help us raise as many of those £39 targets as possible. We want to help Save the Children buy as many bikes as we possibly can. 100 bikes would be a marvellous target to achieve!

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Save the Children gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

Thanks again for your support!
