The Bless Network is a Christian mission agency working in North West France. We exist to explore and express the way of Jesus through worship and prayer, community, discipleship and serving others.

Story

UPDATE

bike2bless is now over. We spent around 18 hours saddle-bound over 3 days to cover a total of 180km - and apparently to burn 7366 calories in the process.

There were lots of hills - notably the highest point in the Quantocks ('Will's Neck') and a drag between Exeter and Moretonhampstead that ran continuously uphill for almost 5km. But we also enjoyed some flatter stretches at speeds of 25 to 40 kph, and we found some beautiful towns and villages, each with the obligatory pub or cafe and colourful locals. Some more literally than others - how many tattooed men can there be in a village the size of Bishop's Hull?

All in all it was a great experienced and good for me in many ways - not least for the pleasure of knowing that the funds raised will make a very real difference to the missions of bless in France and Croatia, and to the many young people involved with them.

We have big plans to do the south-east corner of Ireland next year - get in touch if you'd like to cycle / help / sponsor...

A huge THANK YOU to all who supported this venture. If you feel you missed out by not sponsoring and would still like to do so, fear not - the page will stay open long enough for post-event sponsorship to count!

Blessings,

*Gerard*

So why am I cycling my way through the two moors challenge?

a) Because though I'm not as overweight as I was, I'm not as underweight as I'd like to be. There's nothing quite like cycling 60-80km a day to slim down!

b) Because four days in the saddle will also be four days in fresh air in a beautiful part of England... with good company, good conversation and space for contemplation.

But mostly...

c) Because we can use this self-imposed fitness fury as a means to raise funds for bless...

Please help by sponsoring my bike2bless participation... Funds raised will be used to support the work of bless in France, Croatia and Spain - training young leaders; supporting local churches; touching and transforming communities.
