My story

Bikers 4 Macmillan are a group dedicated to raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support through the common ground of an interest in Motorcycling.

The group was formed in 2007 by the organisers of the very successful 'Over 40s Ride' which raised over £20k in 2008.

In the summer of 2009 we held the first 'Sunset to Sunrise Tour' with Motorcyclists leaving South Stack light house at Holyhead at sunset and riding through the night to get to Skegness for Sunrise. The event was held on the shortest night of the year (21st June), was a great success and raised £274.40 - bearing in mind this was a small event advertised only for local bikers we did quite well.

The event has become an annual event and, as word spreads and numbers grow, will become the flagship event for Bikers4macmillan, gaining donations through both personal and commercial sponsorship.

Planned events include ride-in picnics, rallys, etc  (places and dates can be found on our web site at http://www.justgiving.com/bikers4macmillan ) and participation in the Ride to the Wall event held by the Royal British Legion each year. Again, details of the ride to the wall event can be found on our website.
