THE ROWATHON NOW COMPLETED, THANKS FOR YOUR SUPPORT, WE ARE PLANNING TO COMPLETE THE HULL HALF MARATHON  IN JUNE CARRYING FULL WEIGHTED BACK PACKS, PLEASE CONTINUE TO SUPPORT THIS CAUSE.

My name is Sgt Billy McKay and I am a Regular solider serving in the British Army stationed in York North Yorkshire, myself and 5 members of my troop are planning on carrying out the following:
On the 28th of March we carried out a 24 hour row ( on a gym rowing machine ) and now myself and another memebr of the team are planning on completing the Hull half marathon carrying full weighted back packs ,our reasons for attempting this task is for a charity called “Forces Children’s Trust (FCT), this charity deals with kids that have had a parent killed in the armed forces whilst on operational duty in Afghanistan or Iraq, what the charity does is try and bring some of these children together for a day out enabling them to meet other children in the same hart breaking position as themselves.
The FCT also, by reason of its aims and size, has the flexibility and ability to make decisions and offer help as needed, with minimum fuss and consequent time-loss. The scope of its ability to help both an individual and a group of children in similar circumstances is illustrated by one recent case.  It provided special software for a dyslexic young boy who had sadly lost his father.  The cost was beyond the mother in her present circumstances and not available from other sources.  The immediate response by the FCT enabled the young boy to instantly improve his educational skills.

If this is something you feel you can donate to then thank you. I would be greatful if you could pass this page on to all your friends, family and workmates as we need as much support as we can for this charity.

Many thanks

Billy
