I have agreed to cycle 420km in 5 days across Madagascar, one of the most ecologically rich and unique countries on the planet, whilst helping Computer Aid International deliver vital IT education to communities in need.
The money that is raised will help us to provide professionally refurbished PCs to schools throughout the developing world – where IT skills are now just as important to school-leavers as they are in the UK. We will visit a school in Madagascar where we will see at first hand the impact of IT education on disadvantaged children. By completing the challenge we would've personally raised enough money to provide an entire 20-machine computer lab to a school – and with it IT education to 1,000 children who would otherwise be denied this opportunity.
The great thing is that whatever we raise, Microsoft will match! Microsoft has also agreed to send a team over to complete all required installation and training after the cycle challenge.
