Thank you to everyone who joined us for another lovely day and especially to all the marshals, food and refreshment stop supporters who helped to make the walk work so well
In 2008, we held the first Blackwater Forget-Me-Not Walk in memory of our younger son, Tim, who died of acute leukaemia in 2005. September 20th would have been his 26th birthday so a marathon walk seemed totally appropriate and the idea grew from there. Eighty two people completed either the marathon or the half marathon option and enjoyed some wonderful autumn weather and the beautiful Essex river and country-side.
This year's walk is taking place on Saturday, September 18th and we are looking forward to another lovely day and hope even more walkers will join us. More importantly still, we hope to raise vital funds to help other young people with blood cancers and give them the chance to make their dreams come true. More people under the age of 40 die from blood cancer than any other cancer so please make a donation. Quite simply, the more money raised, the more lives saved.
