Stickaid 2007 Press Release

On Saturday November 17th this year, a well-known British vlogger, Myles Dyer, will be attempting a 24 hour live webcam chat, which will be broadcasted to the world to raise money for the commendable charity UNICEF. Myles, who is also known by his alias and username Blade376, has reached incredible popularity due to his video posts on the popular video sharing website ‘YouTube’. The event, dubbed “Stickaid 2007” will take place on November 17th between 9am GMT, 24 hours until November 18th at 9am GMT.

The event will be taking place on a fast expanding website called ‘Stickam.com’, in which people can create an account and broadcast themselves through webcam. They do this in their own chat room in which they can interact with others locally, and from around the world.

This will be a repeat of last year’s highly successful debut event in which Myles completed 24 hours of non stop chatting. At its peak the event attracted over 1000 pairs of eyes, people supporting Myles during his charitable undertaking. 250 people were present during the final hour to watch him complete this challenge. The target Myles set of a fantastic £500 was surpassed for UNICEF, and the event was declared a true success by many.

A year on, things have progressed for Myles and his vlogging. His increased video postings have gained him much more exposure, having received over 1.5million views through the website ‘’YouTube’’. As a result he believes this year will be just as exciting and will surpass to what happened last year. Myles really wants to push for this event, and is aiming to make sure that anyone who has access to the internet will know about this event. Myles recently stated, “Last year was a truly amazing experience, and one I’d never forget, although I’m so certain this year will be the one to remember.” Amazingly, Myles has increased his target for the amount he wants to raise for UNICEF, to a staggering £5000. When asked about the increase and the reality of reaching his goal, Myles didn’t take a seconds’ pause. The British vlogger says; “Last year when I did the chat, I had about 500 people subscribed to me on YouTube, and now I have just under 7000 subscribers. That alone should be reassurance that the goal is easily achievable.”

Donations for UNICEF through this event can go to this website at http://www.justgiving.com/blade376 but Myles explains that the charitable nature of the event understands that not everyone is able to donate money, but he urges people to still be a part of this event. Myles explains; “There are some people who are unable to donate for many reasons, and that doesn’t matter. By promoting the event, being in the chat room during the 24hour chat, or perhaps joining me in completing a 24hour chat at the same time, you are being a part of this, and assisting in assuring this event is successful.’’

For anyone who is interested in supporting this event, you can do so by visiting the following web address http://www.stickam.com/profile/blade376 between November 17th at 9am GMT, and November 18th at 9am GMT.

Myles can be contacted prior to the event by email: Myles@thewatchers.org if there are any comments or questions.

This fundraising activity is in aid of UNICEF, the United Nations Children’s Fund, registered charity 1072612 and has not been organised by UNICEF itself.
