Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.

The last two years I have been involved in various running events raising in excess of £20,000 for charity, but the current economic climate has made life a bit more difficult for people and money is harder to come by, so I have decided that if i'm going to raise money i'll have to go that extra yard.

St Raphael's Hospice offers the best of palliative care to terminally ill patients from the boroughs of Merton and Sutton in south west London and Surrey. Medical, nursing and support staff do everything possible to relieve pain and sustain quality of life in an atmosphere of peace and comfort, for patients of all faith or none.

To help this fantastic charity my running target for 2010 and 2011 is to complete the four Votwo coastal challenges. Each of these events consists of three marathons in three consecutive days along the brutal coastal paths, roads, beaches and hills of southern England and Wales. The challenges are:

* Jurassic Coast Challenge (Dorset)3 marathons, 3 days, 2 feet, 83 miles, 280 started, 176 finished, finished 122nd, 1 broken leg..........finished in just over 21 hours.

* Atlantic Coast Challenge (Cornwall) -  3 marathons, 3 days, 2 feet, 83 miles.......October 2010.

* South Downs Way Challenge - 3 Ultra-marathons, 3 days, 2 feet, 106 miles.........June 2011.

* Pembrokeshire Coastal Challenge - 3 marathons, 3 days, 2 feet, 83 miles........November 2011.

As a warm up I will also be running in the Berlin Marathon in September, aiming to break my personal best and get under 3 hours 30 minutes for the first time. Hopefully that's the only thing I will break. I've also entered the Beachy Head Marathon in late October.

Thanks again for visiting my fundraising page, and hopefully you can dig deep to help improve the quality of life for people who are finding life a little tougher than most.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: St Raphael's Hospice gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

or you can send cheques made payable to St Raphael's Hospice to:

Steve Blake, 39 Trent Way, Worcester Park, Surrey, KT4 8TW.

So please sponsor me now!

Thanks

Blakey
