Northern Marine Management, along with other friends such as Brantas UK, Stena Bulk, and Concordia Maritime, have since 2006 sponsored a team of stalwart pedallers to raise money for good causes. The first two years we cycled round Arran and raised a good sum for Cancer Research UK, then it was decided we would spread our wings and take on the long challenge of cycling from Gothenburg to Oslo. This Scandinavian adventure was completed over five days and raised over £10,000 for CHAS. Last year the team cycled from Prague to Berlin and raised over £11,000 for CHAS.
So how can we improve on these feats? Our brave boys are now set on cycling through three countries, taking in three capital cities and pedalling over 500 kms to raise funds for a wonderful charity, Save Babies Through Screening Foundation UK, one of whose leading activists is Melanie Macpherson whose story has inspired us to keep trying harder each year. This year the team is Bob (the veteran), Tom (the engine), Mauro (the mechanic), John (the poser), Michael (the sparky), and Ross (the gymboy)
