Story

On the 2nd of November our wonderful colleague Ian lost his very brave battle with Non Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, we will now be running in loving memory of Ian and will continue to raise much needed funds for the Leukaemia and Lymphoma Unit at UCH where Ian was receiving treatment. Ian was a true inspiration to us all and it will be an honour for us to run in his memory. Our thoughts are with Tracy, Dale and Alana along with Ian’s family and friends at this most difficult time.

On the 23rd of November, a team of employees from Bluefin Solutions will take on a running relay challenge to run from the Bluefin offices in Chiswick, London to the most southerly point of England, Lands End. In total we will be covering 326 miles, our aim is to reach Lands End on Sunday 27th of November. We are raising money for a fantastically worthy cause - The Leukaemia and Lymphoma Unit at UCH, so please dig deep and donate now.

Our reasons for taking part:

Jonathan Bray No longer in the best of shapes to take part in team sports, following a broken tib and fib a couple of years ago, I’ve decided a decent physical challenge a year is needed in order to keep relatively fit and help fight off the beer baby. I’m not the best runner in the world, but I came up with this challenge knowing that we’d get some great Bluefin banter going from some fool-hardy participants, and it’d be a great way of raising money for such a good cause! Now enough of the cheap talk... only 1 month to go so time to get in training ; )

Nicholas Chambers Pure and simple – Jon bullied me into it!

Tristan Colgate A mid-life crisis for some people involves buying a sports car, but mine involves agreeing to pretty much every physical challenge thrown at me without thinking through the consequences.  This is going to hurt a lot, but am looking forward to going through it with a good bunch of people, and coming out stronger in mind and body as a result.

Darina Donohoe An occasional runner looking for a new fitness challenge... with a few spare holiday days to take... I couldn't think of a better way to spend them than raising such worthwhile funds for a great cause. Also as the only girl involved the pressure is on to match the boys and make it to the finish line!

Gary Elliott I’ve decided to enter this run to both challenge myself and to help give to charity. Running from London to Lands End will be an amazing experience that will live with me for the rest of my life and an opportunity too good to pass up. It’s a great way to see more of the country and test my physical boundaries.

Hugh Fawcett I've run a marathon and several halfs but 5 days in a row in cold, windy, dark November was a challenge too good to miss. Looking forward to a dip when we reach lands end too. Of course it's nothing compared to the daily challenge faced by those we are raising money for so please please support us.

Jon Gregory Well, I’m doing it because I don’t think I can. And it’s a good reason to try and get fit! Also, raising money for a great cause. I’m also particularly looking forward to one or two cold beers at the finishing line!

John Rogan Having never taken part in a full marathon before I thought I would attempt running 2 in 5 days....what was I thinking! Always up for a challenge and having experienced the charity bike ride with Bluefin last year, I know that spirits will be high and there will be a lot of encouragement that will keep me going to the end. It will be a great challenge; bring on those hills!

Chris Wiseman I am taking part in the Chiswick to Land End charity run to see how far I can push my body and mind. As someone not known to run much unless being chased I hope to achieve at least 10 miles per day to meet my own personal target. Above and beyond that there is no greater drive than to give to a charity that helps work towards saving lives on a daily basis.
