Automotive Distributors Ltd (the company behind the Blue Print brand- aftermarket leader in parts for Japanese and Korean vehicles) are holding a rally in 2008 to raise money for charity. Dubbed the ‘2008 Blue Print Rally’ it is primarily to raise funds for BEN. Details of BEN are on this page and can also be found at www.ben.org.uk The rally consists of 24 teams who are customers of Blue Print (distributors, factors and garages) and are all signed up and raring to go. The 24 teams must each purchase a Japanese or Korean vehicle for less than £500, which they then have to drive from ADL’s UK headquarters in Marden/Kent, across Europe to their Portuguese offices just outside of Lisbon. Commencing on the 17th May 2008 at ADL’s UK headquarters in Marden/Kent, the 2000 mile journey will take the 24 teams of two across to France via ferry, then through France, over the Millau Viaduct and down into Spain. The route then continues along the eastern and southern coasts of Spain, into Portugal before finally arriving at the ADL offices just outside of Lisbon (cars permitting!). The event will last 7 days, and it should be noted that it is NOT a race, but a road rally where getting to each stopping point and ultimately the ADL offices in Portugal is all that matters. That should be challenge enough for the cars and team members alike! Each team has to raise a minimum of £100 for BEN in order to take part, and it is hoped that at least £5000 will be raised in total. Some teams are also raising extra money to give to other worthwhile charities of their own choice. Some of the cars may even be sold or scrapped in Portugal, with all proceeds going to BEN. It is all for a worthy cause, so please give generously! Anyone who would like further information on the rally can contact Rob Head on 01622 834026 or visit www.blueprint-adl.com/rally.
