Made it! On Monday 22nd January 2007 I skated into Brisbane's South Bank having skated across Australia from Perth. The five month journey involved plenty of blisters, some snake dodging, searing temperatures and just a few hills. 5823km skated in aid of three charities. On June 2nd 2006 I ended the first leg of BFUK, a 34 day warm-up for Aus by skating from John o'Groats in northern Scotland to Land's End in southern England. The Lowe Syndrome Trust is a small, family-run charity which works constantly to raise awareness about Lowe Syndrome and to fund research projects into the presently incurable disease. Link Community Development's work in Sub-Saharan Africa has had an inspiring influence on my life and provides thousands of children with an improved education, giving many communities a central pivot that will last for many lifetimes. Finally, through the sport of sailing Sailability Australia educates the broader community to the needs and attitudes of people with disabilities; it dispels many fears held by both the disabled and able bodied. Everyone is accepted for their ability and disability disappears as groups work and learn together.
