We did it!
On 15-16 June 2009 Claire Mortimer, Martin Rolph and Ben Walls completed the Three Peaks Challenge, with Margaret Mortimer and Pete Smith taking on the 1500 mile drive! We climbed Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon, the three tallest peaks in Scotland, England and Wales in 23 hours and 30 minutes.
The expedition was in tribute to Bob Mortimer, a wonderful and inspiring husband, father, uncle and friend.
Bob was a very strong walker who successfully completed the three peaks challenge several times. Originally Bob planned this challenge for last year, during a very brave battle against cancer. His health didn't permit this and he passed away in St Barnabas House on 14 February 2009. We are aiming to raise as much as possible for St Barnabas House, which does such great work supporting terminally ill cancer patients and their families.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: St Barnabas Hospices (Sussex) Ltd gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
Thank you for your support.
