As part of the challenges for my 40th birthday, I had to raise some money for the BTBS.  This is the book trade's own charity - it helps people who have worked in the book trade for over a year in a time of need or crisis.  They even may be able to help with a retraining grant should you lose your job. It is a great source of information and has helped many friends and colleagues over the years.    As someone who works in the book trade, if we don't support the BTBS no one outside the industry will.  Its up to all of us to keep the fundraising going.
